Landcom has opened its much anticipated Builder Display Village in Bunya which showcases eight clever and interesting designs from four of Sydney’s prominent house builders including Allcastle Homes, Champion Homes, Eden Brae Homes and Wisdom Homes.
Each builder has constructed two architecturally designed homes that have been built to Bunya’s design specifications. Four single and four double storey homes are on display.
Camille Abbott, Development Director for Landcom said, “House purchasers have embraced the opportunity to view the very latest innovative housing designs. A new Builder Display Village has not been built in the area for many years. Landcom is giving buyers the opportunity to see what is available for sale before they make a purchasing decision.”
“The contemporary and classic designs have been carefully chosen to complement their surroundings. All of the homes feature several sustainability guidelines to support the carefully designed masterplanned community which borders Western Sydney Parklands.”
Landcom has asked that every home in Bunya adheres to specific sustainability guidelines. The display homes feature careful solar orientation and cross ventilation, solar roof panels, water-saving taps and showerheads, 6,000 litre water tank and grey water recycling for irrigation.
Every Bunya home has been set a target of 65 per cent for energy consumption, which is more than 60 per cent higher than the standard Building Sustainability Index (BASIX) level and 50 per cent for water consumption, equating to 25 per cent above BASIX requirements.
Ms Abbott continued, “Landcom’s universal housing guidelines have also been included in the display homes, which are designed to meet the needs of people of different ages and abilities over time. The homes are practical and flexible and enable owners to age in their own homes rather than having to move on should the need arise.”
Universal housing features include wider external and internal doors for wheelchairs and strollers, level transition between indoor and outdoor areas, spacious and open planned living areas, reinforced wall strength in the bathroom and toilet areas to accommodate hand rails and a covered outdoor area for drying clothes in wet weather.
Nine large spec homes are currently under construction and also showcase the display builders’ signature homes. Two have already sold with the remaining expected to sell quickly.
Land in the Bunya master-planned community is selling very well. Of the 75 land lots released in stage one, only six remain.
When complete the master-planned community will feature heritage parks, playgrounds, BBQ facilities, a large community facility that will cater for a variety of health and recreational pursuits and extensive cycle and walking paths that directly link with the Western Sydney Parklands.
